Get to Know Our New Fleet of Tecnam P-Mentor Trainers

In honoring our commitment to bring our students the most advanced training platforms available, we have selected the P-Mentor to represent the future of our training fleet.

As of this moment in early November, 2024, we have two P-Mentors available and will have 4 total by January 2025. These are exciting times for Vertical Vision as this fleet will allow our faster-track students to advance through their ratings at an extremely efficient pace. One of the main complaints that flight schools face is their students’ frustration with aircraft availability and being grounded due to maintenance down time. The addition of P-Mentors to our fleet is a great way to address and hopefully eliminate exactly those kinds of issues with training.

So, what is it about the P-Mentor that we think enhances our students’ ability to train in all conditions efficiently and effectively?

Here are some of the high points:

  • Rotax 912iSc Powerplant

    • One the most eco-friendly trainers available today with up to a 60% reduction in emissions compared to other IFR training platforms

    • Uptime! Simpler engines allow for faster service and more availability for our students

  • Garmin G3X Touch Avionics

    • Glass-panel avionics prepare our career students for modern professional aviation employment

    • All the information you need for your flight at your fingertips

    • Amazing redundancy that allows for all IFR and VFR training regimes

    • Garmin GTN 650 GPS

    • Garmin G500 Autopilot

    • Ability to toggle to a 6-pack display

  • IFR Training Compliant

    • Much of our instrument training is slated to continue on our Piper Archers but the P-Mentor platform will allow our Commercial and CFI students (and beyond) the ability to train in instrument conditions as required

These are only a few of the many reasons we selected P-Mentors for our fleet. One of the others is that, well, they’re beautiful machines inside and out. The cabin features unprecedented ergonomics, improved roominess, acoustic comfort and external visibility that few other low-wing trainers offer.

If you’re interested in a tour so you can sit in one of these phenomenal trainers, please don’t hesitate to reach out via text, phone, or our Contact Form. We do not use high-pressure sales tactics and will inform you as fully as possible if you’re thinking of exploring aviation either as a career or as a private pilot.
